eSwitch® service

The Salmon Arm Savings eSwitch® service is a program that provides members with a convenient and hassle-free service to transfer their pre-authorized transactions and/or their balance of account from other financial institutions to Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union. Just think, we'll take care of:

  • Gathering your pre-authorized transactions and balance of account information
  • Notifying member's billers of the account information changes
  • Closing old bank accounts after all pre-authorized transactions have been switched to your SASCU account
  • Acting as an account liaison during transition period

Foreign Currency

  1. What type of foreign currency is available through SASCU on a regular basis?
    SASCU usually has US Dollar, British Pound Sterling and Euro Dollars on hand on a regular basis. Other currencies can be ordered upon request.
  2. What is the US currency rate today?
    Call any of our Member Service Representatives for the current rate.
  3. Do you have a Currency Converter?
    Visit any of our three branches and one of our Member Service Representatives would be glad to assist you.
  4. I need to cash a foreign money order.
    Visit any of our three branches and one of our Member Service Representatives will be glad to assist you.
  5. I am leaving the country and need an account which I can access.
    You will need to open a Regular Chequing account at one of our three branches. This will enable you to make withdrawals from your account. To help you plan for your time away, visit any of our three branches and one of our Member Service Representatives would be glad to assist you with all your financial needs.
  6. How do I wire money to another country?
    Visit any of our three branches and one of our Member Service Representatives would be glad to assist you. Bring with you the name and address of the financial institution you wish to wire money to, the name, address and account number of the Payee.

General Administration

  1. I need to change my personal information: mailing address, phone, email.
    Visit your branch in person or fax your Member Service Representative – in both cases a copy of your new signature is required to initiate any changes.
  2. I need to get my personal signature authenticated by a credit union official.
    If you are a SASCU member, visit your branch and we will photocopy your signature and then stamp it certified by one of our Member Service Representatives.
  3. I need to make a personal appointment with one of your representatives, what is the best way?
    The best way is to visit one of our branches or call so a personal appointment can be made. In most cases, a Member Service Representative can assist you without the need for an appointment.

Lost and Found

  1. I found a member’s Passbook, what do I do?
    Return it to the nearest Branch and a Member Service Representative will return it to its rightful owner. And Thanks!
  2. I left a personal item in one of the branches?
    Visit the branch in question or call us to verify if the item has been found.
  3. I left my Member Card in/on the ATM machine, what do I do?
    Contact the Branch as soon as possible. During non-business hours, contact Member Card services at 1-800-567-8111 immediately to report your situation.

Money Orders

  1. How do I get a money order?
    Visit any of our three branches and one of our Member Service Representatives would be glad to assist you.
  2. Is there a money order service charge?
    Money order service charges are dependent on your account package. Contact any of our Member Service Representatives if unsure of money order details and charges.

Money Transfers

  1. I am moving, and need to have my money transferred to my new account.
    There is a simple solution, money can be transferred to your new account through our convenient Credit Union Referral Service which can be accommodated at any of our 3 branches.
  2. I need to set up an automatic fund transfer between my accounts held at SASCU.
    You can set up an automatic fund transfer in person at any branch or by using our convenient MemberLink or MemberDirect services.

Night Deposit

  1. Can I make a night deposit at any SASCU branch?
    Yes, night deposits can be made at any branch. Business members can purchase Night Deposit disposable deposit bags from any branch for .30/bag +gst. A night deposit key will be issued at this time, free of charge. A Member Service Representative is available to discuss this service in detail.
  2. Does the night deposit service have a service fee?
    There is no service fee for using the night deposit service. Night Deposit bags are available at any branch. A member service representative is available to explain the night deposit security process with any member who is interested in attaining this service.

Safety Deposit Boxes

  1. How do I get access to my safety deposit box?
    Visit any of our three branches and one of our Member Service Representatives would be glad to assist you.
  2. I need to sign onto an existing safety deposit box account.
    Accompany the renter of the safety deposit box and visit the SASCU branch where the safety deposit box is rented. You must bring a piece of picture identification with you at this time.
  3. Where do I get a receipt for my safety deposit box rental?
    Visit any of our three branches and one of our Member Service Representatives would be glad to assist you.

  1. Where do I go to get travellers Cheques?
    Visit one of our three branches for your travellers cheques.
  2. What brand of travellers cheques does SASCU carry?
    SASCU carries American Express travellers cheques
  3. In what denominations can I get travellers cheques at SASCU?
    Canadian Dollars 20, 50, 100, 500
    US Dollars 20, 50, 100, 500
    British Pound 20, 50
    Euro 50, 100, 200

    * other denominations can be obtained upon request at any three branches

  4. In what currency can I get my travellers cheques?
    Currencies available on a regular basis: Canadian, US, British Pound, Euro. Other currencies can be obtained upon request (eg: lira, peso, yen, franc, etc.)
  5. Where can I cash my travellers cheques?
    American Express Travellers Cheques are welcomed around the world. Travellers Cheques are available in numerous currencies and denominations, and are accepted at a wide variety of stores, restaurants and hotels, as well as banks, other financial institutions, currency exchanges and American Express Travel Service locations.     To wire money into your account at SASCU, you will need to provide your credit union with instructions that include the following information:
