Facilities Coordinator – Salmon Arm

Your work may be in behind-the-scenes, but you understand that a well-maintained facility helps our staff conduct business, and sends a message of pride to our members.

Your hands-on style will be a perfect fit for this role where no two days will be alike—you may hire a janitor, check on contractors’ work or find out why a delivery van is blocking staff parking—and you’ll thrive on the variety. You’ll report directly to the Controller and contribute to the effective operation of SASCU’s premises by taking responsibility for a wide range of facilities-related activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating ongoing facilities management and maintenance, including: being the primary point of contact for management, staff or members of the public on all facilities issues; scheduling and overseeing all contractors, maintenance, trades and janitorial services for all our facilities; taking on minor repair and maintenance jobs; responding to facilities-related emergencies, including being on-call during off hours
  • Overseeing property, equipment and service leases, contracts and maintenance agreements
  • Liaising with management, members, the public and insurers to oversee property insurance
  • Planning and coordinating office space, equipment and furniture purchases and moves
  • Managing our inventory of office furniture, equipment and corporate art
  • Overseeing the parking lot at SASCU’s main building, monitoring its usage, managing staff and visitor parking passes and scheduling maintenance
  • Co-chairing Facilities Committee
  • Coordinating the upkeep, maintenance, changes, inspections and user lists of our security system
  • Overseeing all key access and keyless entry systems
  • Coordinating the retention, organization, retrieval and scheduled destruction of credit union records archives
  • Coordinating our Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan, including liaising with key internal stakeholders and external consultants, resources and working groups to document and maintain the portions of the plan related to premises and equipment
  • Identifying, researching and recommending opportunities to enhance efficiency and reinforce workplace standards
  • Taking on special projects and other duties as required.

Along with two years in a related field such as facilities management, construction or project management, you have excellent organization and time management skills. Strong computer proficiency in Word and Excel is especially important, as are a general interest in trades and an ability to perform routine maintenance and repair work. Ideally, you also have, or are interested in working toward, a Facilities Management certificate.

You must own your vehicle and have a valid driver's licence.
