At Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union, we take our role as a community credit union seriously. Our staff and directors are actively involved in communities and programs, which encourage the cultural, social, educational, and physical well being of our members and community.
At SASCU, we not only give money, we give of our time. The credit union encourages staff to provide volunteer services to community organizations and service clubs in their own communities. Credit union employees can be seen enthusiastically participating in local festivals and fundraising events, on social committees and sports teams, and with youth organizations.
We are proud of all these efforts.
Visit this section often and see how the credit union is making a difference in your community.

An SPCA wish list was posted in the SASCU staffroom - everything from leashes and collars to cat litter, guinea pig pellets and no-spill dog dishes - and SASCU staff rose to the challenge. Items on the wish list were brought in and staff donated $1,114 to the Society.
Thanks to Dona Campbell, SASCU Member Service Representative (right), for organizing this staff fundraiser and for giving staff another opportunity to support our community.
Staff fielded lots of questions from Grade 1 & 2 students this month. A class from Sorrento Elementary visited the branch and was toured around by staff. Highlights included a peak into the workings of SASCU's coin counting machine, a look around the vault and then a guessing game - "How much money is in that bag?" The students were surprised that the same size bag of toonies was worth almost a thousand dollars more than one of pennies - and was a lot heavier.
These tours are a fun opportunity for staff to introduce young people to banking and get them thinking about ways they can save for the future. For youth account information click here, or visit us at any one of our three branches. It's never too early to start saving.

Member safety is top of mind at SASCU. As a result, staff participated in the annual Sicamous Safety Fair. Joining members from the RCMP, Fire Department and others, SASCU Sicamous Branch staff shared information about how to protect yourself and your money from fraudsters and scammers.
SASCU Member Services Representative Linda Peet and Cash Services Representative Renae Wrench handed out simple advice - "If it's too good to be true, it probably is" - to information about internet, mail and telephone scams and how to be on your guard.
SASCU is proud to play a part in this event and offer people the tools to protect themselves.
For more information about fraud prevention, visit the SASCU Resource Centre or talk with one of our staff at any SASCU branch.
