June 15 marks World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

SASCU recognizes the important role credit unions play in preventing financial elder abuse. Join us on June 15 in supporting World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and take an extra moment to connect with seniors both at work and in their daily lives.

As part of SASCU’s commitment to its senior Members, SASCU was distinguished as the very first Certified Age-Friendly Business (CAFB)® in 2012. Service representatives from all branches completed training to learn about positive and challenging age-related changes that can impact seniors, and how they can make their Member experience safer and more welcoming. All members of our SASCU Wealth team achieved their designation as a Certified Professional Consultant on Aging.

SASCU Member Survey – you have a voice!

We value our members’ opinions! To help us always keep getting better, we need to know more from you.  SASCU employs an independent research firm to do phone surveys on our behalf to learn about your experience with us. Your responses help tell us how we can improve and what is already working for you!

Please note that our researchers do not ask specific questions regarding your accounts or information, such as balances, Member Numbers, or passwords.  The survey questions are designed only to gather general information about your member experience. No member will be contacted more than once per year.

As an owner, you have a voice in SASCU!

Rural Property Taxes - July 4 Payment Deadline

Members can pay their rural property taxes through online banking, SASCU ATMs, by mail, or in person at Service BC.  The bill payment has recently been removed from the list of payees within SASCU Online Banking and SASCU Telephone Banking due to possible problems with the account number format or changes made by the vendor.

To re-add this bill, please login to online banking and select “Add Payee” below the “Payments” menu and look for Search for Payee – ‘Province Of BC-Rural Property Tax (1528)’.  Be sure you have your most current account information. Or just bring a copy of your latest bill to the nearest SASCU branch and we would be happy to set it up for you.

Don’t forget to claim your Home Owner Grant before July 4! It can be claimed in person at Service BC Centres, by Mail to the Surveyor of Tax or online at: http://gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant

Just successfully complete a transaction (e.g., withdrawal) at any SASCU ATM and your card will be reactivated to use for POS transactions.
