Local Credit Union Celebrates Cooperation
SALMON ARM (October 14, 2025) — On Thursday, October 16, credit union members around the world will celebrate International Credit Union Day®, an annual event to commemorate the credit union movement’s impact and achievements. This year marks the 77th anniversary of this event, which will be celebrated under the theme of “Cooperation For a Prosperous World”. In honor of this special day, SASCU Credit Union invites its members and community members to pop by a branch to visit with elected Directors of the Board, spin a wheel for prizes, and enjoy treats.
Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that provide an effective alternative to for-profit financial institutions for more than 403 million members in 104 countries worldwide. More than 74,000 credit unions exist globally.
“As part of this global network of cooperatives, we take seriously our role in offering trustworthy, values-based financial services and operating in support of the co-operative principles,” said Barry Delaney, SASCU President & CEO. “This includes financial education, which will be celebrated this Thursday.
As a special treat, Finley the Fox will be making an appearance between 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Salmon Arm Uptown Branch.
All SASCU Credit Union and Insurance branches will celebrate International Credit Union Day Thursday, October 16, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
