SASCU and Shuswap Food Action Society Partner

SALMON ARM (June 4, 2026) — SASCU Credit Union has entered a three-year partnership with Shuswap Food Action Society (SFAS) with a common goal of building community resilience throughout the region.

As part of the partnership, SASCU will provide $30,000 in funding over three years to support the organization’s work in local food systems, education, and food security. SFAS is known for bringing people together through food, focusing their work on supporting local growers, community gardens, food education, and programs that help families and communities access fresh and nutritious food.

“The Shuswap Food Action Society brings incredible value to our region through its work connecting people and producers,” said Sheri Lake, SASCU Director of Brand and Community. “By supporting this organization with dollars, volunteers, and telling their story, SASCU is helping advance our strategic goal to strengthen economic well-being across the Shuswap.”

“This partnership is just the next step in the relationship that has been growing between our organizations, including five years as co-sponsor of the Coldest Night of the Year and $10,500 in Registered Education Savings Plan prizes over three years of the Project Grow youth garden program,” Lake added.
