Sponsorships are available for a wide range of community-focused events and programs, including:

  • Funding for school or educational initiatives (intended to support long-term capacity building, not the purchase of playgrounds, sound systems, or similar capital items.
  • Arts, culture, and recreation events
  • Local youth sports and seasonal activities that reduce barriers and increase access

We aim to support initiatives that foster community connection, reduce barriers to participation, and make a lasting impact. In certain cases, such as naming rights or long-standing events, SASCU may consider multi-year sponsorships. These are assessed individually based on alignment with our community support strategy.

Strong applications show how SASCU will be acknowledged and involved. This could include signage, mentions in promotional materials, opportunities to attend or speak, or visibility through media and social channels.

When submitting a sponsorship request, consider how your event or program aligns with SASCU’s values and how it can create shared benefit.

When applying, be sure to:
Clearly outline your event or program goals and audience – Help us understand the purpose of your initiative, who it serves, and the outcomes you’re aiming for.

 

The more opportunities you can identify for SASCU to connect with the community, the stronger your application.

  • Highlight signage opportunities, event-day recognition, or promotional mentions
  • Include any planned media exposure (local news, radio, social media, etc.)
  • Share ways SASCU can be present or participate—like speaking, volunteering, or hosting a booth

Show how your sponsorship opportunity strengthens relationships across the Shuswap.

  • Show how your initiative supports local connection, inclusion, learning, or economic vitality. We’re especially interested in projects that reduce barriers and increase access.
  • Is this an event or initiative that brings people together?

Examples include local festivals, school or youth programs, awareness campaigns, arts and culture events, and recreation or sports tournaments.

Sponsorship amounts vary depending on the size, scope, and impact of your event or initiative. We offer flexible funding and evaluate each request individually based on how well it aligns with our community goals.

Yes, in some cases. Multi-year sponsorships may be considered for long-standing events, naming rights, or large-scale initiatives that strongly align with SASCU’s strategic priorities. These are assessed case by case.

We ask that you include recognition for SASCU in your event or program. This could be through signage, logos on promotional materials, mentions in media, or opportunities to be present at the event. We also appreciate impact follow-up after the event, such as photos and a short summary.

Yes. In addition to financial support, SASCU may be able to provide branded tents for use at your event, Community Crew volunteers, or Gifts in Kind for auctions, raffles, or prizing. Be sure to indicate what additional support you’re looking for in your application.

We recommend applying as early as possible, especially for seasonal events. Ideally, requests should be submitted at least 6 to 8 weeks before your event to allow time for review and planning and participation in event promotion.

Our Community Engagement team will be in touch once your application has been reviewed. If your request is approved, you’ll receive confirmation along with next steps, such as providing logos, signage, and any involvement opportunities. Sponsorships are often a collaborative process, and we welcome open communication to ensure the agreement reflects the goals and expectations of both parties.
