Can I access my money before the maturity date?
No, this is a 3-year non-redeemable term deposit meaning the funds will be only available to you upon maturity i.e., after 3 years.
Why did SASCU select community halls to receive the funding?
Community halls are the heart of the Shuswap. They are the gathering spaces that bring people together for events, celebrations, and everyday moments that weave together a community's story. Unlike many other community organizations, community halls get little dedicated funding and are no longer supported by the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD). SASCU saw an opportunity to support these essential but often overlooked spaces as part of our commitment to raising the Shuswap.
Terms and conditions
The SASCU Community Impact Term Deposit is a limited-time promotional product available from April 29 until October 1, 2026. This is a non-redeemable 3-year term deposit which means funds cannot be accessed prior to the maturity date. At maturity, the funds will be transferred to member's chequing or savings account. The community donation of 0.25% of total aggregate principal invested is funded entirely by SASCU and does not affect the member principal, interest rate, or accrued interest in any way. The donation is not tax-receipted to the members. SASCU retains sole discretion over for the selection of donation recipient(s). Donation recipient(s) and the donation amount will be announced on Credit Union Day, October 15, 2026.
Interest rate is subject to change during the promotional period. SASCU reserves the right to modify or withdraw this offer at any time without notice.
